Food is one of the basic necessity for human beings. There was a time when the burning of forests introduced the idea of cooked food and it tasted better than the uncooked food. Since the advent of use of fire to cook food, for ages we have been using fire as a modality to cook out food. However with the progress of human civilization we have understood that the source of fire can be from various substances. Gradually there has been attempts to find alternative sources of heat such as to prepare food we use various modalities, like buring fire, with use of gas, electric heaters, solar heaters. So while cooking with all these sources of heat we need durable cook ware. There was a time when people used cook ware made from clay or even wooden vessels. As time progressed they learn the use of metals.

The cast iron cookwares have their some good properties which makes them preferred cookwares to be used. Those properties are the property of even distribution of heat, better option of deep frying, better option for searing and baking as well. Cooking with cast iron can be done on a direct source of fire or even on a electric coil heater.One can use the cookware for the purpose of cooking several dishes. In comparison to other cookwares the cost of cooking with cast iron is very low.
This provides wide range of options but at the same time it gives you cost effectiveness and provides saving some money which you would have spent on buying costly appliances. Apart from this cask iron cookwares have a long durability.This makes the best value for return of your money. However if not used this might catch rust. There are some basic steps when you have got a new cast iron cookware. You might have o season it before you start cooking with cast iron. You have to apply mild sol and wash it properly.After that put an oil coating to the inner side of the cast iron pot. After this put the greased pot on the heat source at 300 degree  for half an hour. Initially there may be a metallic taste, but that taste goes away as you continue cooking with the cast iron and get better results.
